After an eventful summer, we have semi-slowed down this fall. Maybe slowed down is not right, but we have become more scheduled in the evenings.

We have decided to make Thursday night our family night. (Let me state that we started this once before. Hopefully this time will be better.) I have always wanted to have a family Bible study time, but there is never consistency because of our schedules. But now we have it all worked out! Well, at least for two weeks we have.
Which brings me to the title...Genealogy.

It is hard to say no to dinner invitations and girly-parties. We enjoy all these things, but we are having to make tough decisions. All these things are good, but what is best? We have already seen 4 1/2 years fly before our very eyes. We want to hold on to the years we have left that will continue to fpass before our eyes and know that we did our best raising our daughter to fear the Lord and walk in His ways.
Which brings me to the title...Genealogy.
We recently upgraded LilE's Bible. We loved The Beginner's Bible, but she had outgrown it. We had read through it 10+ times and she was bored. Our new Bible is The Jesus Storybook Bible. Awesome! (Thanks to my many FB friends who recommended it.) My favorite part is that ALL the stories are directed back to Jesus. Isn't that just how our lives should be too?
We showed LilE pictures of our grandparents and explained how they loved the Lord and taught our parents about Him, our parents in turn taught us, and now we are sharing with her. Just as our forefathers did--Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. We pray we will be able to open her eyes and show her how God has walked with our family throughout the generations and will continue to walk with her and her family in the future.

I'm glad you like The Jesus Storybook Bible! If you search for it on You Tube, Zondervan has a couple story videos uploaded.
Thanks so much for the tip about the Bible... We have also worn out the Beginner's Bible and I wasn't sure what to use next. I will order this one!!
I love these pictures....especially the one where you are pointing to your grandmother in the family picture.
