Planting Time

After a very fruitful first year with the garden, I knew I wanted to give it a go another year. But I wanted to change up what we grew. Last year we had way to many zucchini, the squash was always too ripe, strawberries we eaten by the animals, bell peppers and onions never grew, and tomatoes were too abundant (when they weren't eaten by the birds).

After we harvested all we could harvest, we never cleaned out the garden. Oops.

We cleaned and tilled it up (saving the strawberry plants from last year that are already blooming and producing!).

We made our rows and planted mostly seeds this year, with the exception of two zucchini plants.

Then we watered. (She is actually watering the bluebonnets we seeded. Maybe our backyard will grow some Texas out here! Look at these pics my mom took. Gorgeous!)

Voila! Our garden.

It's really fun to plant and then watch it grow. How much more fun is it to plant, watch grow, and then eat it.
