Over the holidays we realized we really were Texan! Some things you just don't experience in the Southeast!
- Christmas celebration at the stable--complete with beans and cornbread and Texas Christmas carols
- Seeing family members, not only at Christmas but everyday, wearing starched Wranglers
- Opening a gun for Christmas
- Opening Christmas gifts while wearing a cowboy hat
- Being greeted by a cousin holding a dead skunk (which he shot on his front porch) in the kitchen. Oh, it gets better--it was dripping blood on the kitchen floor
- Seeing for miles and miles
- Big Red--not the gum, the drink
- Driving up to my aunts house where there were 4 horses in the FRONT yard (she has a gorgeous home by the way)
- In the backyard of the same house is a pony which will be a Christmas gift for a 3 year old girl
- Reconstructing the interstate to accommodate traffic for the new stadium

Whenever we first land in Dallas, I just look out the windows the whole drive home. I'm amazed everytime at how far I can see! I'm sure it's much the same in SC, but here the freakishly tall trees are just a few feet away from the side of the road and block all vision.
