I Detest Dell

Well, folks, it has happened again. Dang computer. Friday morning I went to turn it on and nothing. So after some arguing with the company (because our warranty expired at the end of April) they are willing to fix it since it less than 60 days since they last sent someone to our home to fix it. We will have to ship it off. Daddy's computer is also in the shop. We are on a field trip tonight.
My advice: Don't buy a Dell. We have lived the last three years fixing ours. Praise God we got the warranty.

PS--We had a GREAT weekend with Mimi and Pop. I will post more and share pics when we get the computer back :)

I remember a friend telling me why his Dell was such a good deal (compared to my Mac) because of the warranty. He remarked how quick Dell had responded every time he had to have his laptop fixed.

I smiled and agreed, his warranty was indeed better than my Mac's warranty, however, there was the detail that my Mac had never needed service.

If I have to choose, I choose better computer over better warranty.

You get what you pay for, buy a Mac!

Uggg... we have computer service issues CONSTANTLY here, so I know that when a computer goes down for a long time like yours, it has GOT to be frustrating! At least Dell was willing to work on it...AGAIN!

Whatever you do, don't buy an IBM. That's what the school gives us, and it's free so I'm not complaining too loudly. I've had it for 4 years, and I'm on my third hard drive.

While Macs are good, trust me, they still need service. The ones around here get serviced almost as frequently as the Dells do. None are anywhere near as frequent as these IBMs, though!

Bummer. I know that is frustrating. I think you guys definitely got a lemon.
We have a Dell and haven't had problems(knock on wood).
Maybe you should go the Mac route next time.

To add to the list of computers not to buy, Blake would say never get an HP. I have had my laptop since last August and it has semi-crashed twice. I am lucky to have a tech savvy husband and therefore I don't worry too much about it but it has been frustrating. I think we have finally gotten the kinks worked out. I hope you get yours back soon!
