Sunscreen

There are lots of new babies and mommies this summer. Be sure and ask your pediatrician what he thinks about sunscreen for your little ones. Mine said not to use it until after she turned 6 months. The sunscreen bottle agrees with my pedi. Keep them in the shade!

Here is the advice from my ped:

it is ok to put some sunscreen on her but you don't want to cover her completely so that she is not soaking in too much. Because childrens body surface ratio is higher than adults they could absorb too much if you apply all over her body. We mainly want to stress having her in the shade and having her out in the late afternoon sun only (from 4-7pm). But the Waterbabies is the sunblock that we recommend using.

well there you have it!What a very precise and accurate answer from Dr. Bishop!
I do agree---I would still put W in tshirts and hats because he is so fair...you should see him though he is soooooooooo darkBut as a baby less than 6 months I would stick to the drs orders

Since my doctors are the same as Caroline's, we were given the okay to use sunscreen starting at the beginning. They recommended Water Babies and to be light on the application. Shade is the best but sometimes there isn't shade so better to have their little skin protected and make sure to cover those little bald heads and ears.
