Bye Bye Daddy

Daddy left Friday morning for the Amazon River. He and 13 others are returning to the village they were last November where they will spend the next week telling them about the Maker. They left the church about 8am Friday and headed to Charlotte to fly to Miami. At this point they had to walk out of the airport to walk back in and board another international airline. Crazy! I spoke with Daddy right before he got on the plane to Manaus. God is definitely with them. Amazing things are already happening. For instance: the scales were off when they checked all 28 bags! He also told me that when they were at the airport in Charlotte a man came out from behind the other checker-iners and asked the group if they all had their passports. He asked if all the info was correct and then sent them on as a group. Speedy! He did say the Miami airport was hard core! He walked through an explosive tester before going through the regular metal detector. Fortunately he got through :) I called the airline at 11:45pm to see if they had landed in Manaus and there wasn't an answer, so I went to bed and was going to try again on Saturday morning. I woke up this morning with a message on the machine from Daddy. He called at 12:15am. I must have been out because I never heard the phone ring. He said they made it safely and they have all their bags. He said they were waiting on a bus to ride 3 hours to the boat and then they would take the boat 8 hours down the river until they reach the village they will be ministering to. Talk about a LONG day of travel! They should be there by Saturday afternoon/evening.

The Marco Polo where they will be staying all week.

He said the team would call via the satellite phone to give updates. You can click here to visit the website.

Trusting in the Lord that He will be glorified in the Amazon, and looking forward to seeing "hello, daddy".
