It's a Rainbow Day

You may have heard that when you decorate a room you need an inspiration piece. For LilE's 5th birthday party, I found my inspiration piece--the cake. And I in turn talked her into the theme--rainbows. I mean really, how can you go wrong with so much color?

JD and I set the room up. Lots of color on the tables (including Skittles), rainbow pieces on the walls (used for a game later), and a big painted rainbow on the wall (also used for a game). Balloons and streamers everywhere. It was super festive inside that room!

When the 16 girls arrived, they were able to do two "early bird" activities--fingernail painting and watercolor painting.

After everyone arrives, the games began. I put JD in charge of crowd control and game instructions. It is something he does very well (remember that kid whisperer thing). First game-Skittle race. The girls broke into 3 teams and had to move their jar of skittles to an empty jar across the room via spoon. There was a lot of concentration going on!

Next, they went on a scavenger hunt for pieces of the rainbow. As a part of the decorations, I had different sizes of semicircles around the room in the colors of the rainbow. The girls had to find one of each color. They took them back to their seats to glue the rainbows together. This was one of their favors.

The final game was "pin the cloud on the rainbow." I gave each girl a cloud to cut out. They were then blindfolded, spun around, and were able to place their cloud.

Cake Time!

Inside was a BIG surprise!

Presents! LilE was so blessed with goodies! Thanks again to all her friends! She loves each and every one of you!
