Diversión de Texas

a.k.a. Texas Fun

August in Texas is H-O-T. Like 100+ for days and days in a row. No rain for weeks. So, how do we beat the heat? Get wet! There is a splash pad across town. So we headed over for a bit of refreshment. Well, LilE was refreshed. We sat and got wet with sweat. Lovely.

Yes, it is a splash pad. And yes, she is holding her nose.

Trying to catch the mist on her tongue

We stopped by the park on our way home from the splash pad. But it was too stinkin' H.O.T. to play. So we left.

The next day we got up earlier and headed out before the heat took over. Well, before it hit the 90-degree mark. We wanted to pick up some letter boxes in town. We were able to find several while introducing Mimi and Pop the our new found fun.

Box in the cemetery. Can you believe it is still there after being planted 5 years ago?

Following directions with Pop. Looks like she followed them right to the correct destination!

LilE had been asking to go swimming since the minute we arrived. Hate to tell you sweetie, but Mimi and Pop's pool didn't make the move with them 3 years ago. But, we found a sweet friend who added one more kid to the mix. She loved floating around. And then got brave and jumped off the diving board! Way to go!

Looks like a lot of fun. You're telling me that it's HOT here!! Thankfully we've had a "cold front" come through that has gotten us into the 90's. Looks like Fall has arrived early!! ;) (My word that I have to enter below is grins. Weird.)
