Keeping Secrets

On Father's Day this year I learned that my daughter is still not able to keep a secret. A friend and I made plans to send our husbands camping. She had a fab idea to make a pop up card. So, I copied her idea.

Since it was our gift to JD this year, I had LilE come in and sign the card. I explained to her that it was a surprise and to keep it from Daddy until he opened it the next day. After she finished she left the room and came back in less than a minute after signing the card and told me, "I told Daddy he WASN'T going camping. I didn't tell him!" Insert proud smile here.

I still don't remember what I told her, but I think it was something along the lines of handing her the card and saying, "Go give this to Daddy. He can open it now."

Oh well. Lesson learned. And then I forgot to get pictures on Father's day. Good wife of the day =FAIL!
