Yikes! This is not a good one.
I am thankful for my tough skinned little girl. She gets small bumps and bruises and, for the most part, brushes them off. When I hear the shrill cry, I know it is serious.
I had LilE helping me with laundry the other day. I asked her to carry her sheets and blankets and put them on her bed. They were wrapped all around her and even over her head. Which also meant she was having a hard time seeing.
LilE also has a poor memory. (Do you know where she got it?) Earlier in the day she spread her quilt out in the floor and covered it with animals. As she walked blindly (literally) into her room she tripped on the quilt. I heard the shrill cries and took off down the hall to her room. She had fallen, eye first, onto the metal railing of her bed. Yowza!
I know, I know. You moms of boys are thinking this is nothing. And really, it's not. I am so thankful we have not had to make multiple trips to the ER. I do not know how you guys do it!

No that is still bad and made me cringe. Glad it didn't require a trip to the ER or stitches from a plastic surgeon....or dentist....or OH WAIT I'm having flashbacks! hehehehe
Yikes!! That made me cringe too! I can just imagine how horrible that scream was. Glad she is okay!
OUCH!! It is scary when it is the area around the eyes, mouth, etc. Just know that you and your dad were outside just walking with him beside you and you fell and burst you lip and darkened your front tooth.......it can happen with you watching every move they make. Glad it wasn't any worse than a little shiner!!
It is just way more sad on a sweet little girl! Hate seeing that shiner on her!
Not that I want it to happen to you again (because I DON'T) but it seems to get easier on Mom each subsequent trip. Next time it happens to d2, we'll probably get some drive-thru on the way to the ER. Maybe grab a few groceries, take a little stroll through the park...j/k. :)
Poor, poor LilE!!! Black eyes are so dark and scary looking.
