After years of staying home while our husbands go on trips (granted, they are "business" trips), my girl and I decided it was time for some Mommy R&R! We took off on a Thursday night and headed to the mountains of Tennessee to stay at the Sundown Resort.
We were given our own private two bedroom suite with private bath and kitchen. It also had a covered porch, living room, and cable television. And just about zero cell service. Fabulous and free! (Seriously.)
Friday we drove to Pigeon Forge (well, Sevierville) and shopped...for 8 hours straight! Can you believe it? We found lots for the kiddos and husbands and minimal items for ourselves. We sure shop like mommies! We went to Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant for dinner. Tasty!Saturday we stayed in town. Ventured out (after sleeping in!) to town to browse in some of the local shops. That afternoon M napped while I started a new book. That night we headed out to dinner. We found it in some city flyer...riverside dining. Jackpot!
But, this is what we saw this when we drove up:
Deadbeat Pete's Restaurant
And we had this view during dinner. Fabulous! It was worth taking a chance.
Sunday, we packed up (after sleeping in again, of course) and headed home. It was such a relaxing and rejuvenating weekend away from home. If you have not had a break, I highly recommend one!
