Another thing that has recently changed is my friends who garden. Sandra is always keeping me updated with their process. Mere and Paul had LilE plant some seeds last year. And my friend Jen shared her home grown goods with us last year.
For the last month or so, Sandra has been talking about preparing her garden to get ready to plant. She has done all kinds of research. Well, her talk about it got me in the mood. On a Tuesday night I told Daddy I wanted to plant a garden this year. We made a few calls to figure out what we needed to do to prepare the ground. And found out that it wasn't too late in the season. I have no idea what I am doing. But it seemed like as good of a time as any to get my feet wet. It is also a good lesson for LilE in how God provides for us, but we must wait patiently.

Marking off the sweet spot (LilE's marked off spot on the left of mine)
Good friends Larry and Paul helping to prep the land

All things planted-squash, zucchini, bell peppers, onion, tomatoes, and strawberries

The big area is about 6x6 and the two smaller areas with the squash are 2x2 each. We get excited to go outside and check it every day to see if it needs water (and to praise God for the rain he has sent our way), look for weeds to pull, and to see how much it has grown in just one short week. Hopefully we will have some great veggies to show you in the coming months!

Hey Kendra! I am so proud of your garden! It looks great and I know Emma will enjoy watching everything grow - and you will enjoy eating what grows!!!
And I forgot - who is that handsome man helping you guys??? :) Glad Paul could help you out!!
I love it! It looks great! Lil E will learn so much and love to "help." Veggies always taste better when you grow them yourself.
Well, from the pictures, it at least LOOKS like you know what you are doing:) I hope they turn out great for you! M is doing one too, but I haven't even seen it since it is at his parents' property. He kinda knows what he is doing, but not totally. He talks to BW a lot to get advice! Fingers crossed we both have lots of veggies this summer!
Good for you! I think it is so cool. I would love to have a garden soon. First we need to get our yard in order. Can't wait to see how it grows!
SO I would liek to place an order for squash, peppers and tomatoes! YUMMO!!! YOU can pick, grill and freeze in 1 pound bags then during the middle of the winter you can make a yummy soup and taste summer all over again!
That is so great! I was just telling Gene I wanted a garden, but that's not going to happen until we have a real yard!
