For the first time this year we headed to Lapsits. It is an organization that helps to promote literacy in the 0-48 month old child.
Booths were set up in a local mall to help parents learn how to get involved with reading and other activities with their children. Each year it is around the time of Dr. Seuss's birthday, therefore having the Cat in the Hat theme.
There were booths where parents/teachers were reading stories to the kids as they came and sat, including music. Some booths had easy activities to help children learn numbers and sorting. Some booths just helped get the creative juices flowing by making puppets to play with.
One booth was the youth orchestra. They were playing the instruments and even let the kids play!
It was a fun day to get out and get some fresh ideas as a family. Plus we walked away with THREE free books!! I love some free fun!

Looks like LilE was very interested in the cello. Hope she has an interest in a musical instrument. I know where she can get a slightly used flute!!
