My two favorites were Karen Kingsbury and Angela Thomas. The lights were too dark to take notes (take mention of that Bi-Lo Center). But the theme of weekend was "Free to be Real." No matter what God has given you or circumstances he has allowed in your life, we are to be real about who we are and to give God the glory for our lives.
Angela spoke about 2 Corinthians 3:18 which says "And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit." We are all to see Christ when we look in the mirror; to reflect HIS glory! My most favoritest part of the weekend was when Angela showed us the glory of the Lord. She said "If you were in a marriage that was destined to end, but miraculously, God saved your marriage, please stand up to show those around you the glory of the Lord. If you were told you would not ever have children, but God blessed you with a child, stand up and show us the glory of the Lord. If you were diagnosed with an incurable disease and God has delivered you from sickness, stand up and show off the glory of the Lord. If you lost your job and God has provided in miraculous ways, show off the glory of the Lord. If you have prayed and prayed and prayed and prayed and prayed for a friend to come to know the Lord, and they now have Christ living in their heart, go ahead and stand up and show off the glory of the Lord!" It gives me chills thinking and picturing all the women who stood after each statement.
The glory of the Lord is evident in each of our lives...go ahead...show off the glory of the Lord!! I want to know how God's glory has abounded in each of your lives!!

What did you think of Michelle McKinney Hammond? I've read a couple of her books and felt like she twists scripture sometimes. Is she like that when she speaks?
Honestly, she was my least favorite. I couldn't follow where she was going. And it was right after lunch, so that didn't help her at all either. I can't remember what she said related to the scripture. All I remember is being lost during her talk.
I stand up and show the GLORY OF THE LORD at the children I was told I would most likely never have. I jump and shout for the CHRISTIAN sisters I call Fr'amily. I Shout for JOY at the blessings I can not see that HE is doing within me!
Thanks for that post...I get teary eyed just thinking about what an awesome sight that must have been!!What a great reminder - We certainly don't have to look far to see the Glory of our amazing Lord, now do we! How blessed we are.
