The first week of February Daddy's Grandma, the last grandparent between our two families, passed away. Daddy was asked to preside over the funeral and LilE and I went with him to support him and Nonnie. It was his first funeral and he did a wonderful job telling stories and reliving the life she lived while here on earth. She was one of the funniest Grandma's I have known. Always playing practical jokes and messing with people. She also LOVED her family and LOVED the Lord. As much as we will miss her, we rejoice that she has been united with her Maker and we will one day be with her again.

Due to lots of family being in town, we stayed at DD1's new hotel. It was super nice and the staff was very accommodating to our needs with a soon to be 3 year old. The family bed did not work for us! We purposefully never let her sleep with us when she was little. It would be nice to be able to sleep together when need be, but not happening. The first night we did not sleep. Or, I did not sleep. Daddy can sleep through just about anything. The next night we asked for a roll away, but they were all out. Creative juices started flowing and we made a "princess" tent in the room with a pallet for LilE to sleep on. After we put her down, we headed out into the hall with the computer and watched some TV until she was asleep. We got some awkward looks, but I didn't really care!
We also realized while we were there that we had a bad batch of pull-ups. Once again, we had to brainstorm and we found a solution to the problem (since we couldn't take them back--which I have done before with pull-ups that fall apart).
Duck tape will fix anything!
Mimi and Pop were planning to come to visit us for LilE's birthday the weekend after the funeral. We made arrangements to be on the same flight as they were. It was fun to meet up at the airport and fly--kinda like a vacation, but we were headed home. We thought they would be great help on the flight, but we didn't need them after all. After waking up at 5am to drive to make our 10am flight, LilE and I slept the entire flight!
