Jehovah Jireh

Not too long ago Daddy and I decided to bite the bullet and give Dave a chance. March was the first month. Well, we started mid-March. That is some major stress! But we are holding our own.

I love being obedient to what God has called us to do. That is when it becomes even more obvious that He is our Provider! Some examples:

1. Daddy's car is out of wack. Daddy gets paid for soccer.
2. Grilled cheese for Sunday lunch? Remember we signed up for Deacon lunch at church-free.
3. No money for anniversary date. Friends say they will keep her for free, plus I remember I have an Olive Garden gift card!
4. An unexpected money gift in the mail!
5. Allstate sent a "safe driver" check
6. Last year we overpaid into our escrow and we were reimbursed

And that is all since March 12! Isn't HE good?!?!

David has read a couple of Dave Ramsey's books and listens to his radio show on the way home from work. We decided to follow Dave's advice as well and had similar experiences. God would provide unexpected income to cover our unexpected expenses. We are continually amazed at how he provides if we give him control.

Yes, we've been trying to do it (and have done a pretty good job) since Dec 06 and it's been amazing what you can live without and amazing how God blesses you! We've actually NOT used a credit card since Dec 06 and couldn't believe it! It makes such a huge difference! We still have a long ways to go, but feel we are honoring God more the more we adhere to these principals, which of course, are based on God's design for to be good stewards of His money.

I will tell you, it was way harder for me than for K, and I still "drift" from the over-all plan sometimes, but I try my hardest to stick with it! As a result, a while back when we had to have some work done on my car, we were able to pay cash instead of having to use a credit card or borrow the money. Stick with it!

Precisely! I love to see God work in these ways. They can be so obvious, but we often just don't give him the chance to make it work. It is hard work, but it is worth it! If for no other reason than seeing God work the way he does!

We've been on the Dave plan for a couple of years. Little did we know it would prepare us for an 8 month job transition. It was a good move for us. Good luck to you all.
