Potty Time

My child LOVES the potty. It doesn't matter who's potty: "Mommy poee", "Daddy poee", "Little E poee." A couple of weeks ago we were out shopping and we took the plunge and bought a potty. (Who knew there were so many to choose from?) At first we just took a seat and immediately said, "all done." Two weekends ago, things began to change! We had at least two successes, one #1 and one #2!! Way to go Little E! Then we just sat a bit for a couple of days and Tuesday we had THREE successes!! Since then almost every time she has said she needed to go potty, she has! Daddy and I never initiate the going to potty. She always says she needs/wants to go.

My dilemma: Each semester at Mom to Mom we have a day of round table discussion. My anonymous question: "How do I go about potty training? Is there a certain book you would suggest and when do I need to get started?" (or something along those lines) Because of the great number of questions, my "topic" was pushed back to the spring. Obviously my child is ready, even when I am not! So I need YOU! What has worked for you and is there a book I need to read? I know there are blog lurkers out there! Now is your time to chime in along with those faithful commentors!

I cannot add any suggestions seeing as how my almost three year old will sit and sit and sit some more with no success. But I think you're definitely on the right track! I'm glad you decided to start early, I think it helps to be exposed at a young ago. Just go with it! If she regresses, no big deal. YOu still have a lot of time! And if she's initiating, no need to stress over rewards, etc. Maybe Santa will stuff some panties in her stocking. Hee hee!

Oh how exciting! We are waiting until after the holidays and the move before we start that fun. Let me know if you get any good tips!

Way-to-go little E. I can't believe she is already using the potty.

That's awesome! It's so great that she will tell you...and then go! two tips. Beware when you have to take her back to school. That ruined us! They wouldn't take her enough. Book: Potty Training 1-2-3 by the Ezzo's
