About a year after we moved to SC there was a
group of
five girls (sometimes
six) who met together to have a Bible study and a little fellowship. What a great time of growing together as sisters in Christ! That first study was an interesting one!
Do You Think I Am Beautiful by Angela Thomas. When we finished this study, we couldn't wait to start another to grow even more into the image of our Lord. We then went through
Twelve Extraordinary Women by John MacArthur. It was fabulous to learn how God used the women for extraordinary things. It was so great we thought we would try his book
Twelve Ordinary Men, a look at the lives of Jesus' disciples. It was good also! Over the last two years that group of women has multiplied in ways only God can take credit for! Earlier this year we had over 20 young women studying
Captivating by John and
Stasi Eldridge. What a blessing to have so many women desiring to learn how to be a
daughter of the King! But we knew that as much as we loved to fellowship, intimacy is not as deep with a large group. Therefore, the next go around we had two groups, numbering 9 and 11! Praise God! The group I was in went through a study called
Mocha on the Mount by Sandra
Glahn which was a verse by verse (I am sure there is some fancy and scholarly name for it) study on the Sermon on the Mount. Two weeks ago one of the groups (we are still having two--24 girls in all) began a 12-week study called
Seeking Him by Nancy Leigh
DeMoss. She is teaching us all about personal revival. Wow! The first two weeks have been incredibly humbling to say the least. But in order to experience revival I must humble myself before the Lord. I have to admit my faults and rid myself of pride. I can't wait to see what God is going to do in my life during this time. I pray it will not be one mountain top experience, but it will be a time of life change!

I love how the LORD has blessed us with so many new sisters in CHRIST! PRAISE GOD!!!!! I would have NEVER imagined what this has grown into..what I have learned...and how intimate you can be because you seek the face of our Father! I am in awe!
I'm a little scared of this weeks day 5 ...any one else? And LR its okay to comment we know you read it!!!! :)
I did that study last spring and it was rough. Lots of realization of sin. I hope you enjoy it.
okay, do you see how shiny my forehead is in this pic? i was NOT prepared to be photographed that night! ha ha.. yeah, this study is kicking my butt into gear... glad I'm doing it though. and yeah, beth, i'm a little scared of day 5 too!
I am glad to hear that it is going well. Where was I in the Fall 2005 picture? Beth has shared a little about the study and it sounds great. Ours is great too, sorta similar and definitely challenging. I miss seeing you all that is the worst part of having to have two groups. I don't get to see everyone.
The fall 2005 pic was taken at a Join Us at the Manger. AM couldn't be there either. But that was the only pic I have of most of us!
