It's My Blog...

...and I will brag if I want to!

As the fall is back into full swing at church, life has definitely not slowed down for our family. Daddy has taken on a new challenge with the Wednesday night programming. This summer, he and a friend kicked off a new parenting class. The night started out with families all TOGETHER (gasp...at church, a family together...unheard of!) for a time of worship on a more kid friendly level. After the worship/funny skit/Bible study, the kids broke into age graded classes and the parents stayed back for a time of learning together. The parents learned more about how to be their kids spiritual leaders since they are with them more than the church is with their kids.

The family stuff went very well this summer, so well, that family time on Wednesday nights will continue. There will still be a time for family worship, then the kids will go into their classes and the parents will also break out into small groups. On to the bragging (if you are still with me!)...
Daddy's church, earlier this year, implemented Life Principles. They are Worship (Honoring God through worship and embracing the Truth), Growing (Growing together as followers of Christ), Serving (Serving God by serving others), and Sharing (Sharing hope so individuals may discover a life in Christ). Each age graded ministry is to incorporate these Principles into the area. Daddy could not find any curriculum that had all of them included. So, he has started to write his own curriculum. Holy cow! This has been a crazy week working on all the lessons! Not much sleep. But he feels it is something God has asked him to do. The other night I was proof reading one of the lessons. Let me tell you. The boy has a gift! What a simple, creative, Truthful lesson. Last night was the first night and the kids loved it!! The teachers thought it was great, easy to follow, and spelled out for them. As hard as it has been to spend hours and hours writing, kids are learning how to understand the Life Principles and how they can apply them to their lives.

I could not be more proud of my husband! He has done an incredible job and I wanted everyone to know!

That's awesome! I know you are proud of him. It is important for our husband's to know how much we respect who they are and what they do. I know he knows how lucky he is to have the love and support of a strong woman behind him. Your church is very lucky to have him.

I overheard many parents and teachers last night about how much PUMPED they are about this series! Kudos to John! All the long hours might explain why I just asked him if he was struggling today! :)
Nothing says "I love you " like some good ole fashion bragging!

That's great! I know how hard it is to crank out curriculum, but it's worth it in the end! I give him a 2nd Kudos!!

Thank you, K. for your respect and support to J. We've heard it many times....."Behind every great man, is a great woman"!
