Watch Your Step

Saturday afternoon we went to a birthday party for one of Little E's friends. When we arrived everyone was inside because it was raining. Once the rain let up, the kids started heading back outside to play on all the fun slides, sandbox, bounce house, and more. Little E got a head start so I picked her up on the back porch and headed down the steps with her in tow. On step two (remember, it just finished raining) whoosh goes my foot and down on my hiney. I went down the next couple of stairs, back scraping the whole way down! I was numb! I was worried about Little E. I kept asking her if she was okay. After the third time, she started crying, probably because my voice was shaking. But she is fine. My back was burning so bad and I couldn't get up. Fortunately and Unfortunately, no one had seen the mishap. What seemed like forever (probably less than a minute), a friend came out and saw me on the ground and Daddy soon followed. A few scrapes and bruises. Nothing too major. Maybe falling down stairs just runs in the family.

Little E seemed to enjoy the rest of the time at the party!

Wow! Between the fall down the stairs and the storm door in pieces, you had quite an eventful weekend!!! Usually people don't say they are glad to have the weekend finished, but you may be on the verge of doing so:) Glad everyone was okay in both situations!

It must be a family affair! I'm glad both of you are okay. I have 2 wicked bruises on my bum, and 3 on my forearm. I'm just glad my stairs were wood and not cement!

I'm not sure it's safe to let you two take the stairs anymore!

Glad you weren't hurt in this little incident, but I know you were probably sore and a little shaken with the whole thing.
