No More Barefoot Outings

Thursday afternoon, after cleaning the house, I opened all the windows and the front door to let the sun shine in the clean house. As I was finishing up I heard Little E in her room as she was ready to get up. The front door was all I had left to open and as I opened the front door, I heard a crazy noise, and felt things falling at my feet. All I could say was, over and over was "oh my gosh, oh my gosh." I couldn't believe what was happening! The storm door was in millions of pieces all over the entry floor. I paniced and turned in who knows how many circles trying to figure out what to do. Little E crying, glass everywhere. Can't keep her in the crib, can't let her out. My thoughts were gathered and I called up a friend and took Little E to play with her friend L. An hour and a half later, I was nearly finished cleaning up all the glass. Crazy!! And to make things even crazier, Daddy was at camp!!

How did this happen? I think the yard guy must have thrown up a rock with the weed eater earlier in the week, but I hadn't opened the front door since they had been here. We will see what happens with that...

The outside view

After all that mess was pretty much cleaned up, I ran to pick up Little E and then had a fabulous spaghetti dinner with Just Me and the Boys. It was so wonderful to relax and get out of the house and spend time with some true friends.

Hey, I was just catching up with what has gone on with you guys since we've been gone. Looks like your time here was fun--wish we could have seen you! Looks like your girl is growing leaps and bounds. Thanks for sharing all that! I hope to talk to you soon. Crazy about your storm door. Our a/c is out--thankfully it's not 100+ this week...

That stinks! Glad no one got cut on any shards, though.
