On the drive back from San Antonio on Thursday there was a small mishap. We are finding our way back onto the highway and we stop at a stop sign behind a semi with a flatbed on the back. While we are waiting to go, we notice that the semi has decided to 'go' in the opposite direction. That's right, REVERSE! All I could say was "Whoa, whoa" and Daddy complimented my "Whoa" with "Dude, dude." Daddy tried to put the car in reverse, but the Jeep's gear shifter is not in the same location as the Tahoe's. We were still making the "dude, whoa" phrases and sure enough, the semi could not hear our pleas for him to stop. I finally reached over and started to honk the horn. And who would have thunk it? He stopped! Fortunately, only the license plate was bent and even if the worst had happened, Daddy prepared by taking the waiver out on the vehicle in case some crazy truck driver hadn't heard the honk of the horn. Craziness I tell you, plain craziness!
We arrived back in C-town later that evening. My brother, otherwise known as "Buh" and his beautiful bride, "Ee" also came down from Cowtown to visit with us. I know my parents were excited to have their entire family together for the long weekend. Back to the drive from SA, it started raining during the drive north. And it didn't stop until we left C-town. Mimi and Pop put a swing in their beautiful backyard, the blow up pool was ready to dive in, and the flood gates stayed wide open! What a blessing for them that the grass and trees are so green. But it did rain out all our fun plans. We ended up playing with toys inside and the adults watched LOTS of movies while Little E was sleeping. Blood Diamond is the only one I would recommend of all the ones we watched there.
Saturday night we had some extended family come to Mimi and Pop's to visit. Mimi's family was all on vacation and Pop's youngest sis was also on vacation. But we got to see and play with Nana's family (see the warrior below).
