This weekend we were able to get away for a couple of days to visit our friends in Charleston. After a LONG ride down there we decided it would be in every one's best interest to avoid the car seat for the evening. Hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill were a tasty dinner.
Friday we got up and headed to Isle of Palms to soak up the rays. Actually, we drove through a mini shower on the way and it was overcast for a teeny bit of time before it all moved inland. The water was FREEZING! (at least for my Texas blood, 73 degrees is a bit too cold!) But Little E just loved it! She is part fish like her momma. Even when her teeth were chattering and goose bumps covered her body she wanted more water time. She crashed on the way home. After a good long nap we headed to The Noisy Oyster for some fresh seafood. It was really yummy stuff.
Saturday morning we headed to West Ashley to take a boat ride (and what a great boat that was!) down the river. There were some complications with the boat, so we didn't ever go over 5 miles an hour (not good for a man's ego!) but it was slow enough that the girls could sit on the back and dangle their feet in the water. Well, Little E did. HGM is not a big fan of the water these days. We decided to head back so we could nap in the car to make the ride home a little more bearable.
What a great time to catch up with two of our first friends here in SC. We hated to see them move, but if you have to move, why not move to the beach! Seriously, we are so thankful to have friends who share the common bond of the love of Christ. We loved getting to spend some quality time over the weekend renewing our friendship and look forward to seeing them again soon.
Be sure and check her site for some pics that I do not have!
