A friend in Little E's playgroup (or her mom) gave us free tickets to the house! What a blessing!! Once there, we purchased the audio tour to tell us about the House. It was a busy day at the House (we had timed entry tickets). We had to wait about an hour before we could go in. Once in the House it was about a 2 1/2 hour tour. Little E was a champ! We had her in the Bjorn carrier and would take her out every once in a while to "walk" around. I was amazed how well she did. Once back in the car, she was asleep before we were off the property.
It was great to escape the house on a Saturday, even though it is was in the upper 30s! We have decided we need to plan little getaways more often. Family time is precious! Let us know if you have any ideas for the next outing!

AWESOME!!! I'm so glad you got to make use of those free tickets and I'm jealous we couldn't find time to go. I love the Biltmore, just amazing that they built that house so long ago with so many modern conveniences. It's beautiful! And I think it's fun to go when it's cold, just more quaint, I guess. Although the gardens are beautiful during the warm months.
Brooks and I have tried to think of some fun family things to do, too. Maybe we could go hiking sometime...if you can go slow for me. Or I thought about a day trip to Hendersonville, NC, another quaint town.
Maybe a weekend trip to the Wax Museum in Arlington? Just a thought...
Glad you had fun! That is where we will be headed in April for the festival of flowers as birthday treat to yours truly.......

We went a couple of weeks ago for the first time. I couldn't believe the amount of detail that went into something that was built so long ago. We did the Rooftop tour(which I highly recommend)where we got to go out on the roof and several balconies. We got to see some rooms that haven't been completely restored. It was very neat. We did the house tour at night as part of the candlelight walk through they have at Christmastime. It was beautiful.
Idea for another family outing: Hollywild Zoo in Inman is a neat trip that is close by. Maybe we could all go sometime in the late spring or early summer.
What a fun day trip with:Emma,Talley, William and little Fred or Freida Wells
Holly wild is a great place to picnic also
