What a weekend! My parents and grandma were here from Saturday until Tuesday. We had a great time showing them (well, mainly grandma, since mom and dad have been here before) around the area.
After a short rest on Saturday afternoon we headed to a Pig Roast. That's right, a pig roast. Only in the south! This shin-dig has been in the works since Easter. The pig was mighty tasty! Daddy told me I couldn't look at it or I wouldn't eat it. It was so tender they couldn't move it to the table to have the apple in it's mouth. Too bad. We also had a big-o-bonfire right in their back yard. The crazy thing, they live in the city!! And even crazier, we haven't had rain in several weeks!! Never in Texas!
Moving forward--Sunday was a typical Sunday morning church. Sunday evening the choir sang God is Here. AWESOME! God was definitely amongst us!
Monday we headed to Sky Top Orchard to pick apples. They were so juicy. Nothing like eating an apple right off the tree. Little E liked the apple too! She kept sticking her tongue out to lick it. We came home and made tasty apple pies!! The drive up to the foothills was so nice with the leaves changing! And by changing I mean from green to red, yellow, and orange. In Texas the change always means green to brown to the ground! They also sell pumpkins so we couldn't resist the photo op.
Tuesday we went downtown. Greenville has the greatest little downtown. We ate a wonderful lunch. We couldn't get out and walk around though. It rained 3 inches on Tuesday!! The rain is much needed!
We had a great time and as always it is hard to see family leave. But we have a great holiday schedule in December. We will be home for over 2 weeks!! Can't wait!

It was a great weekend in the Carolinas....It is always special to be with people you love. We are considering becoming associate members of Taylors..what a great church that loves the Lord AND our children. Little Emma is the most precious (we love Kendra and John as well). Grandma was a trooper. She had a great time seeing where here grand and great-grand children live! Have a great FALL!
Sounds like a wonderful time! Glad you're enjoying the weather and making the most of S. Carolina until you head back to the brown leaves and dead grass here in TX! Miss you all! xoxo
Great pictures! The fall colors there sound beautiful---and the apples and pumpkins look really festive. The weather here in TX is nice now, and we really DO have colorful leaves every now and then! Grandma said she had a great time and loved spending time with you all.
