C-L-E-M-S-O----N

The BIG game! We went to our first ever Clemson football game today. The M's invited and we accepted. What a day! B is die hard, and I really mean die hard Clemson. He bleeds orange (not to be confused with Texas orange). The festivities started early this morning. We were picked up at 8am. After stopping at the boiled peanut stand (which Daddy and I are starting to enjoy--can you believe it?!?) we arrived to our parking spot after jumping the curb, crossing the sidewalk, and parking on the mulch. Who knew we could do that? We then unloaded ALL our gear and hiked about 16 miles. We arrived at the tailgate and had brunch. We stood around and chit-chatted until game time (noon). We then hiked another 12 miles UP hill. What an UP hill! B--you killed me! A, HGM, Little E, and I did not have tickets, so we trekked all over campus (another 23 miles--and by the way, Clemson is not like the west Texas schools we attended which were built on FLAT land! It is UP hill at all times!) We took a pit stop in the student center and let the girls play for a while. We then set out again to get back to the tailgate. We found some shade and waited for the game to be over. The boys arrived with smiles as Clemson beat UNC 52-7. Daddy enjoyed himself. Hoarse from yelling, he got into the orange phenomenon. From what he was telling me, it seems to be similar to what you would see at Texas A&M. Whoop. (Can I do that if I didn't graduate from there??) Anywho, back to the real story...We then made our way (with the gear in hand once more) to another tailgate to relax/whatever until time to head back. It gave the girls more time to play around before getting back into the car. It was nice to relax in the grassy knoll. To my very pleasant surprise Little E did very well. She pretty much stayed on schedule. She actually took 2 naps (in the carrier, strapped to me). She even smiled for the camera at the end of the day.

Kendra, what a talent you have for writing interesting stories - you must think about a "book" someday. Love reading your blog and looking at our precious Emma!

Sorry about all the walking! I am so glad you got to experience Clemson with us. There is really nothing like cheering on your favorite team with 82,000 of your closest friends.(ha) We had a great time! Next year we will hopefully save-up to buy a praking pass, so there will be less walking! Emma looks good in orange! By the way, didn't you at one time tell me you hate journaling? I don't think that's true from reading your blog.

Okay, as an English teacher, I must correct myself, I meant PARKING pass, NOT praking pass. Sorry! And for the record, A LOT is two words. haha ;)

I loved your story---you're a great writer! Amazing you could write after walking 51 miles---but it sounded like lots of fun.

It really wasn't THAT many miles, but it did feel like it.

So it was really about 4 miles, wouldn't you say Annie? So I exaggerated a little bit. It was a beautiful day that didn't need to be wasted indoors!
